Temple Grandin’s Opinion of Canadian abattoirs

The CBC report with Dr. Grandin supplied by the CHDC.   It strikes me that Dr. Grandin’s clarity here contrasts with her statements elsewhere that the standard practices involved in slaughtering prey animals are as appropriate as for non-prey animals (I won’t touch the extreme argument that all animals who are eaten can be considered “prey” because that would be putting too fine a point on a debate already fraught with complexity).

I must look up Dr. Grandin’s remarks specifically addressing the mode of slaughter for prey animals so I can add the link here.  I think they may be cited in Forbes Magazine’s series on Thoroughbred slaughter.  I’ll check and get back to you.
